Triumph Speed 400 launched in India at very affordable price!

The first 10,000 customers can avail of the introductory price of Rs 2.23 lakh.

In India, Triumph launched its most affordable line of motorcycles. The cost of the Speed 400 is Rs. 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom). The initial pricing of Rs. 2.23 lakh is available to the first 10,000 buyers. In October, the Scrambler 400X's price will be revealed.

A neo-retro roadster is the Speed 400. It has a single-piece seat, a gasoline tank in the form of a teardrop, and a circular LED headlight. Bar-end mirrors, single upswept exhaust, and 17-inch alloy wheels are included on the motorcycle.

The Speed 400 has a mono-shock at the back and a front fork with an upside-down design with 130 mm of travel. A single disc and a 300 mm rotor supply the front and rear braking power, respectively.

At the launch event, Triumph also displayed the Scrambler 400X. The bike includes a 19-inch front wheel included with dual-purpose tires, a 2-piece seat set at 835 mm, against 790 mm on the Speed 400, a longer travel suspension, and broad handlebars with knuckle protectors. A bigger 320 mm brake disc is also added to the front of the bike.

The Scrambler 400X weighs 9 kg more than the 170 kg Speed 400 and has a slightly larger wheelbase than the roadster. The motorcycles have a ride-by-wire system, dual-channel ABS, a USB charging connector, and an analog instrument dashboard with a tiny LCD screen.

A 398cc, liquid-cooled engine powers the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X, producing 39.5 BHP at 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm.
