Sources: Dembele is about to sign a move from Barcelona to PSG.

According to reports cited by ESPN, Paris Saint-Germain is about to complete a surprise agreement with Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona.

The 26-year-old attacker has reportedly already signed a five-year contract with PSG, despite the French champions' longtime interest in them.

Dembele's Barca contract includes a €50 million ($55 million) release clause that is in effect until July 31. After that date, it rises to €100 million.

Barca additionally submitted a bigger offer to the France international, but PSG is confident the player is going to be attracted to their effort.

While there are still a few details to figure out, debates between the player's agent, Moussa Sissoko, and Luis Campos, the PSG sports director, are progressing well, according to employees.

According to sources, Barca manager Xavi wants to keep Dembele because he sees him as a crucial member of the team, but he also realizes that the club knows that getting a significant transfer price will help them with their financial problems.

In the scenario that Dembele agrees to the transfer and PSG pays the release clause, the Catalans would be unable to stop it.

Dembele left Borussia Dortmund in 2017 for the La Liga giants in a €105 million move but his time at Camp Nou has been beset by injury problems.

In 185 games with Barcelona, the striker has scored 40 goals and has captured three La Liga championships in Spain.

Dembele will soon join the list of PSG players who have recently joined, including Marco Asensio, Manuel Ugarte, Lucas Hernández, Cher Ndour, and Lee Kang-in, and a new manager, Luis Enrique.

In the meanwhile, after the striker rejected talks to join Saudi club Al Hilal, PSG is still awaiting a resolution to the Kylian Mbappé contract problem.

According to sources who spoke to ESPN, Real Madrid will still be Mbappé's first choice if he leaves this summer, and talks should move forward next month.
